What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Teacher position at Vision Preschool & After School?
Teacher for 2-3 years old classroom
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times.
- Being under the direct supervision of the director and responsible to help in planning and implementing age-appropriate curriculum using variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.)
- Being alert for the needs and/or problems of the children as individuals and as a group.
- Implementing plans concerning daily/weekly schedule, individual/group activities for children, lesson plans and room arrangement.
- Preparing materials and learning areas of guided activities for the social, nutritional, physical, emotional, and cognitive development of children.
- Parent conferences: Communicate with parents regarding the progress in the various areas of development of children and conduct individual conferences with parents of each child biannually.
- Communicate with parents regularly
- Collaborate with other educators
- Participate in planning and executing school events such as Christmas Show, Graduation Program, and additional events throughout the school year
- Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
- Cool-tempered, flexible, friendly personality
- Be comfortable with changing diapers
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of at least 12 units in early childhood development studies including Community Care Licensing required core classes (Child, Family, & Community; Curriculum Planning; Child Development)
- At least one-year experience in a licensed child care facility for preschool teacher preferred
- Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
- Health Screening, TB Test
- Live Scan Fingerprinting
Compensation based on education and experience.
