We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Experienced Optician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional optical care to our patients. As an Optician, you will be responsible for assisting patients in selecting eyewear, ensuring proper fitting, and maintaining high standards of customer service. Your expertise in optical products and medical terminology will contribute to the overall patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their prescription and lifestyle needs.
- Measure patients for proper fit of eyeglasses and contact lenses, ensuring accuracy and comfort.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on the use and care of their eyewear, including contact lens fitting and maintenance.
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists and optometrists to ensure optimal patient care.
- Perform necessary adjustments to eyewear for comfort and fit.
- Stay updated on the latest optical trends, products, and technologies.
- Adhere to aseptic techniques when handling medical equipment or supplies.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of optical products, including lenses, frames, and contact lenses.
- Familiarity with medical records management, medical coding, and medical terminology.
- Understanding of vital signs and basic anatomy knowledge related to eye care.
- Experience with electronic health record systems such as Uprise is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential.
