*Job Summary* We are seeking a dedicated Optometric Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in providing exceptional eye care services and support the optometrist in delivering high-quality patient care.
*Responsibilities* - Greet patients and assist with check-in procedures - Perform preliminary tests such as measuring visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception - Conduct diagnostic tests including visual field testing -
Assist in frame selection and fitting for eyeglasses - Maintain accurate patient records and update medical history - Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and verifying insurance coverage -
Educate patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and care *Skills* - Proficiency in sales techniques with a focus on optical products - Knowledge of retail math for pricing and discounts - Familiarity with optical terminology and procedures - Experience using electronic health record systems or be a quick learner and have computer skills. -
Ability to manage medical records accurately and maintain patient confidentiality - Understanding of basic physiology, vital signs, and anatomy knowledge - Familiarity with medical coding practices - and other office tasks such as community outreach, etc.
