Position Summary
The Business Development Specialist is responsible for expanding Vision Care Direct's presence throughout Wichita and Central Kansas by developing relationships with employers, insurance brokers, healthcare providers, chambers of commerce, and community organizations.
This role focuses on creating new business opportunities, educating participating practices, and increasing awareness of Vision Care Direct throughout the region. While you will generate qualified opportunities, our sales team handles proposals, negotiations, and closing new business.

- El Dorado
- McPherson
- Salina
- Great Bend
- Hays
- Surrounding communities
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop relationships with employers, brokers, healthcare providers, and community organizations.
- Generate qualified sales opportunities for the sales team.
- Visit participating and prospective eye care providers to educate physicians and staff about Vision Care Direct programs and benefits.
- Recruit and support new provider network participation.
- Build referral partnerships throughout the territory.
- Represent Vision Care Direct at Chamber of Commerce events, networking groups, trade shows, and community functions.
- Assist with market research, provider engagement, and referral tracking.
- Support vendor and community partnerships that enhance value for members and providers.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, coaching, and verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable working independently.
- Superior ability to analyze information and develop effective solutions.
- Strong planning, critical thinking, problem-solving, and task and time management skills.
- Proficiency in office technology and equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience in a recruitment or sales role is preferred
