Our Traveling Optometric Technician role is an excellent fit for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) who enjoy patient interaction but want a position with predictable daytime hours, no lifting, and no overnight shifts.

Responsibilities
- Travel between clinic locations to support patient flow and coverage
- Use your CNA‑developed patient communication skills to obtain histories and guide patients through testing
- Assist with pre‑testing and diagnostic imaging (OCT, Retinal Photography, Visual Fields)
- Provide hands‑on patient education, including contact lens training
- Maintain clean, organized exam rooms—no heavy lifting required
- Support clinical teams by bringing consistency and calm to fast‑paced environments
- Represent VCC’s culture of compassion and professionalism at all locations
Skills & Qualifications
- CNA experience working directly with patients
- Strong communication skills and comfort in medical environments
- Ability to adapt to changing schedules and clinic locations
- Tech‑friendly and willing to learn diagnostic equipment
- Organized, efficient, and calm under pressure
- Computer literacy and familiarity with medical charting
- Desire to transition into a medical specialty with no lifting, no nights, and no physically strenuous tasks
- Optical or optometric experience is a plus, but full training is provided
Salary : $40,535 - $54,076
