Optometry Technician

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Optometry Technician to join our team. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, conducting pre-testing, scribing, answering a multi-line phone, scheduling appointments, contacting patients, and insurance authorization. We are a boutique office that put customer service above all else, so candidates must project a professional image with a caring attitude, possess exceptional customer service skills, and be able to communicate effectively with patients, doctors, and colleagues.

At least one year experience in the optometry field is recommended to apply.

Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic tests such as visual acuity, color vision, tonometry, visual field testing, and retinal imaging, etc.
- Assist optometrists in various procedures, including contact lens fittings and frame selection
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history and test results
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries and concerns
- Educate patients on proper eye care practices and the use of contact lenses or eyeglasses
- Assist with front desk duties such as scheduling appointments and verifying insurance information

Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to the eyes
- Sales experience in a retail setting is preferred
- Familiarity with medical records management and electronic health records systems
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues
- Basic understanding of medical billing processes
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Pay: $20.00 per hour
