What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortgage Underwriter position at Vision Bank?
Basic functions and responsibilities: To accurately handle various functions related to the underwriting of real estate loans and perform a variety of secretarial and clerical duties.
Duties: The position entails the following major duties under the direct supervision of the R/E Loan Officer.
- Underwrite all types of loans under the direction of the lending offier(s), including but not limited to the following: Freddie Mac, MPF, and portfolio according to investor guidelines.
- Compile information for and prepare various special reports.
- Maintain supplies and various files and records.
- Perform general duties for one or more officers, which include answering telephone, routing mail, and originating replies to correspondence, upon direction of supervisor.
- Be proficient in a variety of software programs, and operate other office equipment as required.
- Would be required to register for an NMLS (Nationwide Multistate Licensing System) Number including fingerprinting, background check and signing a MLO Agreement.
- Perform all other necessary duties to assure effective work flow and effective realization of total department and bank goals.
Education Desired: High School Diploma and Administrative training.
Experience Desired: Two or more years banking experience.
Loan processing experience preferred.
