Fast growing Northridge, CA based AS9100 Certified Aerospace Defense Company/Machine Shop is seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and consistent Quality System Manager to join our team.
We are a manufacturer of complex machined components in the Defense/Aerospace industries and have been in business for over forty-five years.
The Quality System Manager will ensure that the quality of products and processes are compliant with internal and regulatory standards and are continually improving. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced team environment and provide the highest level of work ethic. You will participate in the internal audit process and related activities. Experience working in the A&D industry is preferred. The ideal candidate has at least 7 years of experience in a quality assurance/inspection role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate, lead, and work with a team of quality/manufacturing professionals.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to create, document and manage Advanced Product Quality Planning
- Responsible for managing, maintaining, auditing, and improving company procedures, work instructions and forms to AS9100
- Handled internal, internal external audits and management review. Responsible for all corrective actions associated with internal and external audits
- Manage and maintain internal and customer specification library, approved supplier list and supplier performance & monitoring
- Create and perform training on new or updated procedures, work instructions or forms
- Prepare and present periodic management reviews. Report, present, maintain and improve quality-related KPI’s
- Responsible for all vendor, internal, and customer requests for root cause and corrective actions (RCCA). Investigations performed using problem solving skills such as 5 Why’s, Fishbone, and 8D. Manage Material Review Board (MRB) meetings and concur in the disposition of product in the manufacturing area that is found non-conforming to requirements.
- Manage the implementation of quality assurance plans and procedures.
- Set objectives and guide the team on the achievement of quality assurance goals
- Manage the execution of quality assurance operational plans
- Observe, collect, summarize & report quality data including in-process rejections & MRB data
- Knowledgeable with a CMM a, Knowledge of Production Part Approval Processes (PPAP) and AS9102 First Article Inspection reports a plus.
- Collaborate with Quality Manager, and other key Managers to hep improve the Quality of the company.
- Work directly with Quality Consultant with all aspects of the Quality System.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience working in aerospace/defense manufacturing required
- Must have a high sense of urgency, the ability to multitask, and work in a fast pace environment.
Other Desirable skills:
- Leadership/Management/Supervision Experienced highly preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment or independently
Education:
- High School Graduate with a combination of trade school, college, and on the job training preferred
