Where You’ll Work & The Scope
Vishay Centerline in Hudson, NH is currently seeking a Full Time Buyer/Planner responsible for planning production schedules and procuring materials, parts, components, and services to support our customer needs and requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
BUYER
- Acquiring and maintaining technical understanding of products purchased.
- Process, approve and deliver purchase and production orders to support product line needs and meet targeted inventory goals.
- Reviews bid proposals and negotiates purchase orders.
- Maintains procurement records such as items or services, purchased costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
- Monitoring the cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure highest quality at best value.
- Recommend cost saving proposals, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria.
- With guidance, developing new supply sources where existing vendors and suppliers are inadequate.
- Work with production and sales to determine product needs and plans/schedules appropriately.
- Assisting with the scheduling of all product lines while maintaining lead times based on current load guidance and capabilities.
- Bachelor degree in related field preferred but will consider candidates with 3-5 years of related experience and training.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Strong negotiation skills with a focus on manufacturing environment.
- MRP and inventory experience is necessary.
