Job Purpose
Production Shift Manager is ultimately responsible for the Production Supervisors’ commitment to the safety and health of their employees.
Manage Collagen Casing & Biomedical Dough products and ensure all departments' costs, yields, safety, environmental, people development, budgets and quality to consistently provide products meeting customer requirements at the lowest cost.
Key Result Areas
- Manage the manufacturing process such that the products manufactured, collagen casing and Bio-Medical Dough & all departments meet and/or exceed all quality standards and specifications.
- Report Shift efficiencies, downtime reasons, staffing and incidents, after every shift to upper management and to the following shift.
- Manage the manufacturing process such that the products manufactured, collagen & Bio-Medical dough process meet productivity and efficiency financial targets and budgets.
- Manage and direct the activities in relation to the collagen & bio medical dough products to meet production and inventory requirements.
- Implement and coordinate technological improvements within continuous lines, Gels and Solutions and Matpro, which will reduce costs, improve quality and improve efficiency.
- Direct and manage the personnel in all departments (Continuous Lines, Matpro, Warehouse, QA/PS Lab, Gels, & Maintenance) during your shift to ensure that all departments are manned and trained appropriately.
- Manage the housekeeping of all departments at all times.
- Direct the safety activities within the departments and ensure that health and safety of employees is a top priority. Insist on strict adherence to safety standards.

Involvement in Business Planning/ Budget | Has input and shared responsibility and budget decisions. Insures proper and accurate reports are submitted to Finance on request. |
Communication | Must have the ability to communicate and influence others within the operating department and other contributors and impacted outside of the department. Complete SAP Work notifications when maintenance attention is required for repairs, PMs, or minor modifications. Point of contact between production and Quality to make sure proper testing and adjustments are taking place. |
Physical requirements | Must be able to maintain constant movement throughout the department and plant area to oversee the production operations. |
