What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at Viscofan?
Job Purpose |
The Production Supervisor is in charge of directing and monitoring to ensure the shift team is working safely, efficiently, and following the plant’s established SOP’s. They distribute manning, and assign specific tasks when needed. They will also monitor equipment and enter work orders to ensure mechanical integrity and safety. Most importantly they will serve as the teacher in developing a strong, knowledgeable, and flexible team.
Duties and Responsibilities |
- Monitor and control that all jobs and functions are performed according to the product standards and meeting all safety requirements.
- Direct manning for coverage of machines for the shift.
- Provide training, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
- Perform safety audits and distribute safety information.
- Address quality issues to minimize out of specification production and minimize waste.
- Maintain shift schedules two weeks out.
- Submit daily shift reports.
- Support Overtime coverage is met.
- Assure proper PPE is used across department.
Qualifications |
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Several years of experience working in an industrial facility.
- Must have strong leadership skills in a manufacturing environment; a self-starter that is highly organized and responsible.
