Job Purpose 

 

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) is a strategic and operational partner responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and leadership. This role supports the MGM Plant by leading initiatives in employee engagement, talent development, training, organizational development, and employee relations, while ensuring alignment with corporate HR strategy and compliance requirements.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

Training:

Talent Management and Development

 

  • Partner with department managers in the development of their department's training matrix
  • Develop and maintain an updated competencies/skills matrix for the different positions in the plant.
  • Provide support to the HR Manager in the planning and execution of succession plans and management of tools such as 9 Box and training plans for key players and/or critical positions.
  • Partner with leadership to assess, design, and execute succession planning initiatives (including tools such as 9-Box and development plans).
  • Generate monthly and annual reports of training hours and expenses by department/plant.
  • Generate and analyze training reports, tracking hours, certifications, and training expenses.
  • Provide support in the planning and execution of training for salaried and hourly employees.
  • Keep the training records of all plant employees up to date, providing evidence for any audit or inquiry.
  • Facilitate leadership development and critical position training programs.
  • Support in providing annual training required by Corporate and gathering the necessary evidence in case of a query or an auditable requirement.

 

 

Recruiting/Onboarding

STAFFING

 

  • Manage full lifecycle recruiting phases including research, sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, and offer presentation for candidates. (Including Hourly and Salaried Employees)
  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment for salaried and hourly roles, including sourcing, interviewing, and presenting offers.
  • Conduct full pre-employment processing, including background checks, drug screens and reference checks as needed.
  • Prepare new hire packets and other presentation materials in Spanish.
  • Conduct New Hire onboarding for all new hires, ensuring legal compliance all related documents and new hire paperwork (Job description, insurance, policy, handbook, onboarding training, and other first-day processes) are properly signed and stored in the employee file.
  • Establish and keep up-to-date employee files, ensuring all documents (medical, training, I-9s, personnel documents, etc.) are properly placed to allow quick and easy access to any document at any time.
  • Enter all new hire information in the Company's HRIS (PN8, ADP, and fingerprint) systems in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS system (PN8, ADP) accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assists with the processing of terminations.

 

Support for Expatriates and Foreign Employees

  • Settling-In Services for the facility’s expats and foreign employees, to include:
  • Provide relocation support for expatriates and foreign employees, including settling-in services (social security, banking, schools, housing, utilities, driver's license, auto registration, etc.).
  • Serve as a local resource for expatriate and foreign employees to facilitate integration into the local community.

Employee Relations

Employee Engagement and Relations

  • Be the first line of support in guiding supervisors through employment matters such as dealing with poor performance, attendance issues or poor attitude, etc. 
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations issues, coaching and guiding leaders and employees.
  • Support conflict resolution efforts and labor relations strategies to avoid grievances or litigation.
  • Investigate complaints related to workplace harassment, discrimination, or Code of Conduct violations.
  • Keep internal communication boards updated and collaborate in creating content for employees.
  • Escalate higher-level issues and concerns to the HR Manager.
  • Provide uniforms and PPE to new employees and keep inventory updated.
  • Assists with all employee events.
  • Conduct employee exit interviews and analyze feedback trends to recommend improvements.

HR Operations and Compliance

  • Maintain and administer HR policies, practices, and compliance with federal, state, and corporate regulations.
  • Support the administration of HR programs such as benefits enrollment, leave management, and employee events.
  • Translate HR-related documents and employee communications (English/Spanish) as needed.
  • Administer and update HRIS data and ensure process documentation is current and audit-ready.

Reporting and Analytics

  • Prepare and maintain HR reports and dashboards (Excel and/or Power BI) related to turnover, training, labor costs, headcount, and workforce projections.
  • Develop reports for Six Sigma initiatives and Kaizen projects.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Keeping process paperwork and employment records.
  • Provide support in the development of JD positions at MGM Plant.
  • Prepare mailings and overnight packages when needed.
  • Assist HR Director with maintaining the HRIS system administration.
  • Assist with other assignments and projects as needed.

 

 

Qualifications

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Engineer or a related field. 
  • Master’s degree or professional certifications are a plus.

Experience: 

  • 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment 
  • Expertise in Labor Relations, Training & Development and talent acquisition.

 

Skills: 

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and HRIS systems (Workday, ADP, PN8 preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal, coaching, and influencing skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, project management, and communication abilities.
  • High emotional intelligence, diplomacy, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) required (oral and written fluency).
  • Will require high level of communication skills. Will use tact and diplomacy in addressing employee complaints. Must be an excellent team player who is a self-starter. Must be highly motivated and flexible to handle changes both within the corporation and in the legal environment.

Working Conditions

May be required to be in a variety of environments internally and must follow all safety regulations and wear all proper safety equipment.

 

Physical Requirements

Must be able to perform normal office duties. Additionally, must be able to walk in various areas of the company’s facilities.
