Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Governance SME with a strong background in designing, developing, and implementing enterprise data governance frameworks. The ideal candidate will play a key role in assessing current maturity, defining governance structures, and aligning with regulatory and enterprise standards within a banking environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess current data governance maturity across people, processes, and policies
• Define and implement data governance frameworks, including ownership, stewardship, and controls
• Identify gaps against enterprise standards and regulatory expectations (e.g., BCBS 239)
• Design the target operating model, including roles, councils, and governance workflows
• Identify and manage Critical Data Elements (CDEs) and data domains
• Ensure alignment with audit, risk, and compliance requirements
• Define and drive the data governance roadmap and strategic priorities
• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to implement governance initiatives
• Work within an Agile/Scrum environment and follow SDLC best practices
  
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience in Data Governance (Design, Development & Implementation)
• Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, policies, and controls
• Experience working in Agile development environments and familiarity with SDLC
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as BCBS 239
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work independently and drive governance initiatives
