This position plays a critical role in cancer care, working closely with radiation oncologists and clinical staff to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered treatment.

🌟 Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister prescribed doses of ionizing radiation following written prescriptions and treatment plans from radiation oncologists
Perform quality assurance checks on equipment and patient positioning to maintain the highest safety standards
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal treatment delivery and documentation
Educate patients on treatment processes, answer questions, and provide emotional support throughout therapy
Document all procedures, dosages, and patient interactions in compliance with regulatory and institutional policies
Monitor patients for adverse reactions or side effects and notify physicians as necessary
Participate in departmental meetings, training, and quality improvement initiatives
Graduate of an approved American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) Therapy Program or equivalent education/experience
ARRT Certification in Radiation Therapy - Required upon hire
California Diagnostic and Therapeutic Radiologic Technology Certification OR
California Therapeutic Radiologic Technology Certification - Required upon hire
1 year of hands-on experience as a Radiation Therapist in a clinical setting
Proficiency with treatment planning systems, imaging modalities, and linear accelerators
Strong interpersonal skills with a patient-first mindset and compassionate bedside manner
Technical accuracy and detail orientation in dose delivery
Ability to remain calm and supportive in emotionally sensitive situations
Knowledge of oncology terminology, treatment protocols, and radiation safety
Effective communication and collaboration with patients, families, and the care team
