Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced and passionate Director of Women and Family Center to join our partner's multidisciplinary leadership team in Ottumwa, Iowa. Role OverviewAs the Clinical Director of the Women and Family Center, you will provide both strategic and operational leadership for a comprehensive maternal-child health service line. This includes oversight of a 4-bed labor and delivery unit, maternal triage, a 14-bed postpartum area, a nursery, and a 4-bed pediatric unit. You will be responsible for optimizing care delivery, staff performance, patient satisfaction, and compliance with regulatory standards while maintaining alignment with the organization's mission and fiscal objectives.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide 24/7 operational and clinical leadership across L&D, postpartum, nursery, and pediatrics
Implement quality standards, patient care protocols, and regulatory compliance with JCAHO and other accrediting bodies
Collaborate with interdepartmental teams to enhance service integration and patient outcomes
Evaluate, mentor, and support nursing and ancillary staff within the Women and Family Center
Develop and manage departmental budgets, staffing plans, and capital needs
Drive continuous improvement in maternal-child services by applying evidence-based practices and innovative care models
Act as a liaison between clinical teams and hospital administration to promote aligned strategic goals
Graduate of an accredited RN program
Current, unencumbered Iowa RN license (or from a Compact State)
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in maternal-child health
Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience in a clinical setting
Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or Nursing Administration
Iowa Mandatory Reporter Certification for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse
Strong communication and team-building skills with a passion for maternal and pediatric care
