Position Overview
TheBrain Break Tutorsupports students in a fun and structured after-school environment by facilitating small group learning, writing activities, and creative team-building exercises. The goal is to provide a safe, engaging space that balances academic support with social-emotional growth and enrichment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide academic support and tutoring to students in reading and writing.
- Develop and lead interactive Brain Break activities that promote focus, creativity, and teamwork.
- Facilitate small group and individual learning sessions tailored to student needs.
- Incorporate fun, hands-on activities to build communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
- Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement and clear expectations.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and student progress notes.
- Communicate effectively with the Program Coordinator regarding student progress or concerns.
- Ensure a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children (elementary or middle school preferred).
- Background in education, tutoring, youth development, or related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Creativity and enthusiasm for interactive, movement-based learning.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must successfully pass a background check.
