Position Overview: Virtuous Boss is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Athletics Instructor to join our elementary after-school program. This individual will lead fun, engaging, and age-appropriate athletic activities that promote physical fitness, teamwork, and positive social interactions. Key Responsibilities:
- Program Implementation:
- Plan and facilitate structured athletic and recreational activities tailored to elementary students, ensuring safety and inclusivity.
- Integrate activities that align with the Virtuous Boss Curriculum, emphasizing self-confidence, teamwork, and physical well-being.
- Utilize positive reinforcement and the program’s incentive system (e.g., bead system) to celebrate student achievements and encourage participation.
- Student Engagement and Supervision:
- Engage students in a variety of sports, games, and physical activities to develop motor skills, coordination, and fitness.
- Supervise students during activities, ensuring their safety and adherence to program rules and guidelines.
- Foster a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel valued and motivated to participate.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Maintain open communication with parents, guardians, and program staff regarding student progress, participation, and any concerns.
- Work closely with other instructors and program coordinators to ensure a seamless integration of athletics into the broader after-school program.
- Administrative Duties:
- Track attendance, participation, and student progress in alignment with program goals.
- Assist with the setup and cleanup of equipment and activity areas before and after sessions.
- Contribute to periodic evaluations and feedback sessions to assess program effectiveness and student outcomes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); college coursework in education, physical education, or related fields (preferred).
- Experience working with elementary-aged children in an educational, athletic, or recreational setting.
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate physical activities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid (or willingness to obtain).
