Job Information:
After 6 months, position will move to 4 days per week (10-hour shifts) with the possibly of a hybrid schedule.
Cardiology experience and ACLS Certification is strongly preferred.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
1.Patient Triage: screening/assessment of patient care problems/issues - via telephone/office- Patients, Medical Facilities, Offices, Referring Physicians, etc.Identifies and evaluates patient and family needs, abilities and readiness to learn via telephone or schedules appointments. Instruct when possible teaching needed via telephone.
2. Cross train for Routine, Nuclear stress testing and Stress Echoes and Echoes with Contrast
3. Blood pressure checks as ordered by Cardiologist
4. Anticoagulation, dosing, medication orders/refills; Lovenox management and patient education and related job functions
5.TEE/Cardioversion scheduling and related job functions
6. Lab orders and result reviews
7. Clinical resource for Cardiology Group staff, Cardiologists and assistance with patient care emergencies/IV access and medication administration
8. Other job functions as designated by Office Manager
9. Participates in QI Projects
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate of Diploma/BSN Nursing program; Minimum of 2 years Critical Care/Cardiac experience and/or previous Triage, Emergency Department experience, preferred
LCENSE/CERTIFICATION and TRAINING/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
New Jersey Nursing License; BLS/ACLS Certification; Experienced/Proficient with IV access; Knowledgeable of Basic and advanced arrhythmias; strong understanding/knowledge of Cardiac Anatomy & Physiology and current Cardiac medications; Good Communication skills
