SMT Machine Operator

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

To set up and operate SMT machines and inspect product to IPC-A-610 & J-STD-001 Class 3, ensuring assemblies are built per customer specifications.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set up an operate SMT machines
• Setup and tear down feeders
• Inspect work to ensure components are in correct location and polarities are correct
• Performs preventative maintenance on machine to allow for ultimate productivity of machine requirements.
• Responsible for running and monitoring the quality on multiple machines.
• Contributes to maintaining a safe work environment by following safety policies and procedures, reporting any safety concerns, and participating in any scheduled stretch breaks.
• Actively participates in quality efforts and support the quality policy through accountable action.
• Responsible for compliance to the Quality Management System and other regulatory and statutory requirements as required by the customer.
• Act as an authorized agent to stop production when nonconformances are noted.
• Accountable for accepting responsibility for continuous on the job training by actively participating in training put on by designated Virtex employees and/or any outside service.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident
• Education: High School diploma or General Education degree (GED) preferred, or related work experience
• Experience: 1-3 years experience preferred
• Mental Demands: some basic troubleshooting on surface mount machines, reading and understanding technical documents such as blueprints, bill of materials, workmanship standards, equipment procedures, and other related documents
• Physical Demands: ability to perform high manual dexterity and repetitive tasks while sitting or standing for up to 8 to 10 hours a day. Ability to lift, push and pull 10 to 30 pounds. Must have good eyesight, as well as the ability to adjust focus and differentiate between colors.
• Equipment Used: surface mount component placement equipment, reflow ovens, printing equipment, electronic test equipment and basic hand tools

• Flexibility to work in other departments and to work extra hours when needed, including weekends

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
