Reporting to the Sr. Director, Corporate Controller, the Sr. Manager, Accounting will play a critical role in overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting. This individual will lead key close processes, support external reporting requirements, and partner cross-functionally to strengthen financial controls and scalable processes. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting leader with strong technical expertise and a continuous improvement mindset, comfortable operating in a fast-paced, growing biotech environment.
This role is based in our Waltham, MA headquarters. Our office-based employees are required to work in the office three (3) days per week.
Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
- Oversee and manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial statement systems in accordance with US GAAP
- Review complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Manage key accounting areas such as accruals, fixed assets, leases, equity, and intercompany transactions
- Support SEC reporting requirements, including Forms 10-Q and 10-K, and related disclosures
- Partner with external auditors and manage audit timelines and deliverables
- Maintain and enhance internal controls and SOX compliance
- Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Legal, Tax, Payroll, and other teams on accounting matters
- Support system implementations, process improvements, and scalability initiatives
- Coach and develop junior accounting team members as applicable
Qualifications:
- 8 years of progressive accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- CPA required
- Prior experience in a public company environment required
- Biotech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industry experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven mindset of proactive continuous improvement
- Efficient independent worker with ability to focus and drive for results
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to handle multiple tasks
- Strong commitment to ethical standards
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.)

Salary : $147,000 - $180,000
