We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Technician to join our Service Team. This hybrid role combines hands-on field service with in-house repair oversight, offering a dynamic opportunity for technicians ready to take the next step in their career. This position includes travel, on-call responsibilities, and mentorship of In-House Technicians. You’ll be responsible for ensuring high-quality service delivery, accurate diagnostics, and effective communication with customers and internal teams.

Location:
- Buffalo NY – Travel Required (at times up to 50%, but often also local to Buffalo)
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform on-site diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), electric excavators, and related equipment.
- Travel to customer sites to provide service, training, and support.
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding service activities, findings, and next steps.
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Coordinate with In-House Technicians to manage service returns and ensure quality standards.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to entry-level technicians.
- Assist with writing customer / internal work instructions.
- Use diagnostic tools and software to identify faults in battery modules, inverters, and control systems.
- Interpret data from BMS, HMI, PLC, DEIF Controllers, and inverter systems.
- Collaborate with Service Engineers and technical teams for escalations and complex issues.
- Accurately complete and close Repair Orders.
- Record detailed service notes, updates, and test results in a CRM database.
- Maintain organized records of service activities and customer interactions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); technical training or certifications (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel.
- 1–3 years of experience in equipment troubleshooting and repair.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and electrical test equipment (e.g., multimeters).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Service-oriented, safety-conscious, and team-focused.
- Experience with CRM or service ticketing systems (e.g., Odoo) preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Salary:
- Full-Time - Salary (50 hours per week)
- $65,000 to $75,000, depending on qualifications and experience
