Job Description
Batten University, a NCAA Division III institution and a member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, is accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant for Men’s and Women's Swimming. Batten University is located in Virginia Beach, VA, and sponsors 24 varsity sports teams, supporting almost 500 student-athletes.
The position reports to the Head Men's and Women's Swimming Coach. The individual will assist with all aspects of the Men's and Women's Swimming program including recruitment of quality student-athletes, scheduling, managing and coaching competitions/meets, planning, as well as conducting practices. This individual will also be organizing team travel, monitoring student-athletes’ academic progress, equipment maintenance, fundraising and other administrative duties assigned by the Head Coach. Additionally, a thorough understanding of and accountability to NCAA, Old Dominion Athletic Conference and institutional rules and regulations is necessary.
Review of applications will begin immediately. This is a graduate assistant position. A Bachelor’s degree is required. Tuition remission for graduate programs is included as well as a stipend. Preference will be given to applicants with collegiate coaching experience and/or experience as a collegiate student-athlete in swimming. Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable by the college’s auto insurance carrier.
