Job Description
Responsible for leadership and assisting the head coach with oversight of all coaching duties for the men’s basketball team in all phases of a NCAA Division III program. This includes, but is not limited to, recruitment and retention of academically and athletically qualified student-athletes, practice/event coaching, game management, overall program administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Requires Bachelor’s degree, with at least one year of previous successful collegiate coaching or playing experience, at college, semi-professional, professional or international level. A commitment to the welfare and development of student athletes within the philosophy of NCAA Division III. Must demonstrate working knowledge of NCAA Division III rules and regulations. Excellent leadership, role-modeling, organizational and interpersonal skills, including technology and use of social media, sound judgment, ability to work with diverse population, and commitment to student academic and athletic success.
Coach must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and be authorized to work in the United States; if holding a visa, status must allow for employment at Virginia Wesleyan University.
