Overview
We are seeking a skilled technician to join our team. This role is essential for upfitting and maintaining a variety of truck equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in truck equipment repair, upfitting, welding and a solid understanding of hydraulics and electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform upfitting of trucks and equipment to include installations such as lift gate, dump bodies, etc.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical components using schematics and technical manuals.
- Align, weld, and fabricate parts as necessary to ensure proper functionality.
- Troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic systems and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
- Utilize power tools safely and effectively in all repair tasks.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a welder, upfitter or similar role in a fleet environment or equivalent program.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, and equipment repair techniques.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical diagrams.
- Ability to align, weld and fabricate, as necessary.
- Familiarity with various types of power tools used in mechanical repairs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
- A valid driver’s license may be required for this position.
