Director of Sales – LOT Region
Virginia – Georgia Transformer Corporation, the largest and fastest-growing power transformer manufacturer in the U.S., is seeking a seasoned Director of Sales for the Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas (LOT) Region. This leadership role is ideal for a proven sales professional with a strong track record of driving growth and leading high-performing teams.
Position Overview:
The Director of Sales will be responsible for spearheading all sales activities within the LOT region, including generating new inquiries, securing orders, and nurturing relationships with key customers. This role will involve strategic oversight of the sales process, management of the regional sales team, and collaboration with internal stakeholders to deliver custom-engineered products and solutions that exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sales Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for the LOT region, leveraging all available channel partners and resources to build a robust inquiry pipeline. Continuously monitor and analyze sales metrics to optimize inquiry-to-quote conversion rates and drive sales growth.
- Team Management: Lead and mentor the regional sales team, including Sales Engineers and sales representatives, to ensure the achievement of sales goals. Provide training, support, and performance evaluations to maximize the team’s effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
- Customer Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, leading all major selling and negotiation activities. Work closely with application engineers to ensure the delivery of timely, accurate, and high-quality quotations.
- Order Fulfillment: Achieve order booking targets by proactively managing outstanding quotes, adjusting strategies as needed to enhance hit rates while meeting budgeted profit margins and plant loading goals.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with internal Project Managers to ensure smooth project execution, open communication, and timely resolution of any issues. Provide guidance to ensure projects stay on track and customers remain informed, resulting in high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Market Intelligence: Continuously gather and analyze critical market intelligence, including customer, market, and competitor insights, to inform sales strategies and maintain a competitive edge in the U.S. Industrial market.
- Marketing Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing team to develop compelling sales collateral that highlights the company’s value propositions and differentiators.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of sales experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably within the Oil & Gas, Commercial & Industrial markets selling transformers.
- Strong knowledge and experience with medium/high voltage electrical equipment, particularly medium voltage distribution, power transformers, and related field services.
- Proven experience working with channel partners, including manufacturer’s representatives, EPCs/contractors, and distributors.
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated track record of driving sales growth and successfully managing sales territories.
- Ability to lead by example, make cold calls, and effectively manage a remote sales team.
- Willingness to travel 40-50% of the time.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- Residency within the states of Louisiana, Oklahoma, or Texas is required.
