Job Title: Plant Manager

Job Summary:
As the Plant Manager at Virginia Transformer, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the Roanoke plant, ensuring efficient production, quality standards, and achievement of business objectives. You will manage key functional areas such as production, planning, materials, maintenance, and engineering while fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. The Plant Manager will collaborate closely with corporate management to ensure alignment with company goals and report on performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership: Direct and manage all plant operations, including production, planning, materials, maintenance, engineering, and other related functions. Ensure that all processes are executed efficiently to meet the plant’s business objectives.
- Performance Management: Drive achievement of key plant metrics, such as revenue targets, RTS (Return to Service), FPY (First Pass Yield), and other operational goals. Ensure that set processes are followed with precision and intent.
- Team Management: Lead and provide support to a multidisciplinary team, ensuring effective operations, performance control, and coordination across departments.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all products meet quality standards through stringent process controls and comprehensive employee training. Implement corrective measures when necessary to maintain product excellence.
- Safety and Compliance: Maintain a safe work environment by ensuring compliance with safety regulations, proper housekeeping, and overall plant maintenance. Promote a culture of safety for both employees and the facility.
- Reporting and Communication: Regularly report on plant performance, progress toward objectives, and any operational issues to the corporate management team. Ensure transparent communication on all critical aspects of plant management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in plant or production management, with a strong preference for experience in an assembly shop and union shop environment.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Experience in quality control and process improvement, with a focus on maintaining high product standards.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance requirements in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to analyze performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Engineering degree preferred.
