Essential Functions
- Utilize classroom and lab instruction, student assessment mechanisms, and classroom management techniques to provide an engaged classroom experience to students
- Utilize a variety of teaching techniques to accommodate the learning styles of a diverse student body
- Demonstrate the highest levels of integrity and professionalism in all aspects, including appearance, demeanor, and attitude
- Demonstrate strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated success in collaborating with diverse groups of employees and customers
- Guarantee that students have been presented with the material to successfully meet the learning objectives of each course within a student’s program of study
- Ensure that upon completion, students have the technical skills and knowledge to maintain, troubleshoot, install and repair heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems used in residential settings
- Prepare students to test and obtain industry recognized certifications
- Provide the student with timely information and feedback on his/her academic progress relative to quizzes, tests, homework and projects
- Continuously evaluate individual student's attitudes, participation and commitment to the program
- Actively work to maintain a high level of student enrollment by maintaining accurate daily attendance records, calling absent students, and communicating attendance concerns to the Assistant Director of Education.
- Ensure that instructional materials and equipment are ready for student use, sufficient in quantity, are properly maintained and are in working order prior to class time
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of all school policies, and actively participate in their implementation and enforcement
- Ensures adherence to all safety standards and practices, including oversight, care and maintenance of facilities, equipment and materials.

Education and Experience Required:
- High school diploma, GED, and/or proof of completion of related vocational training program.
- 3 – 5 years’ Experience in the trade within the last ten years
- Proficient with Microsoft word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook and Power Point
Preferred:
- Prior experience teaching in a proprietary education setting and/or experience with training employees within the industry.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and accreditation regulations applicable to the proprietary education industry
Abilities Required:
- Strong communication skills and the ability to foster others to learn
- Able to lift 50lbs
- Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Capability to prioritize, accept responsibility, and work within deadlines
Preferred:
- Superior organizational and problem-resolution skills
- Ability to work in an observation/coaching style environment
- Working knowledge of national codes and best practices
- Strong attention to detail
- Exceptional people skills and a good collaborator
