Job Summary
The Virginia Tech Competitive Cheer team is seeking a Head Coach (and potential Assistant Coach) for the upcoming season. This is a collegiate-level competitive team that participates in local competitions and travels to College Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida.
The coach will play a key role in leading practices, developing athlete performance, and preparing the team for competition, while collaborating with student leadership who manage team logistics and operations. The season runs from September through April.

Responsibilities
- Plan and lead structured practices (typically three times per week: Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday; ~2 hours each)
- Provide instruction, corrections, and feedback to athletes on stunting, tumbling, and overall performance
- Develop routines and assist with choreography and competition preparation
- Prepare the team for 1-2 local competitions and College Nationals
- Support athlete development, safety, and team cohesion
- Attend and assist with occasional team-hosted clinics
- Collaborate with student executive board members regarding team needs and scheduling
Requirements
- Prior cheerleading coaching experience (required)
- Strong knowledge of stunting, tumbling, and competitive cheer routines
- Ability to lead and manage a collegiate-level team environment
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Availability during the competitive season, including practices and competition travel
