Duties And Tasks
- Provide hands-on, guided, differentiated instructions to students enrolled in the courses, as specified in the schedule and course contract.
- Prepare course materials and lesson plans.
- Conduct efficient and effective classroom management.
- Provide students with an approved syllabus that includes course objectives and learning outcomes, teaching methodology, attendance policies in line with those of the institution, assignments and deliverables, timelines, and evaluation criteria.
- Use the institution’s learning management system to post syllabus, assignments, and other materials and to communicate with students, in a timely manner.
- Deliver course content using a variety of teaching styles and provide interesting and engaging assignments that demonstrate the real-world applications of concepts covered.
- Maintain records of enrollment and attendance, assessments and grades, and submit class rosters and grade sheets by the deadlines established by the department.
- Maintains a hazard free environment and practices safety in lab(s) or classroom.

- Plumbing Theory and Principles – Comprehensive understanding of water distribution, drainage, venting, and waste systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Codes and Regulations
- Working knowledge of local, state, and national plumbing codes (e.g., Uniform Plumbing Code | [UPC], International Plumbing Code [IPC], and Virginia Plumbing Code).
- Safety Regulations : Knowledge of OSHA 10/30, lockout/tagout procedures, confined space safety, and PPE requirements for plumbing environments.
- Hands-On Demonstration – Ability to demonstrate plumbing installations, soldering, and mechanical joining techniques in a classroom or lab environment.
- Instructional Delivery – Ability to teach hands-on technical content clearly and effectively to diverse learners.
- Fixture Installation – Understanding of the proper installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing fixtures including sinks, toilets, showers, and water heaters.
