BRCC is seeking a full-time Maintenance Trades Technician to join our team to assist skilled crafts to accomplish skilled maintenance or repair tasks on a variety of mechanical and electrical equipment.

Job Duties
- Maintenance, repair, and construction work in basic trades such as heating/cooling, painting, electrical, and plumbing, including after-hours callbacks for emergency repairs.
- Maintenance and repair tasks including furniture repair, monitor installation, floor and ceiling tile work, drywall repair and finishing, and installation of compressed air hoses for automotive equipment.
- Assisting with event set ups, office moves, snow removal and other departmental tasks.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of one or more skilled trades (e.g., electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry) and working knowledge across multiple trades disciplines
- Competent understanding of building systems, mechanical equipment, and facility infrastructure
- Knowledge of applicable safety standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA)
- Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices and procedures
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and specifications
- Basic knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and work order tracking
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and specialized trade equipment
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with staff, contractors, and leadership
- Organizational and time management skills to prioritize multiple tasks and projects
- Ability to document work performed, including maintenance logs and reports
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, climbing, and working in elevated spaces
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and make sound technical decisions
- Ability to respond to emergency situations and perform repairs under pressure
- Ability to maintain a high level of safety awareness and follow established safety protocols
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules, including on-call or after-hours support as needed
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, vendors, and stakeholders
- Experience in building maintenance, construction, or a related trade, including experience reading and interpreting plans, shop drawings, and as-built documents.
