Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Gas Fitter to join our growing team, specializing in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of home standby generators. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring proper and safe gas connections for residential standby generators, ensuring they are ready for use in case of power outages. This role requires an understanding of plumbing systems, gas lines, and electrical connections to safely complete generator installations in compliance with local codes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install gas lines and make necessary plumbing connections for residential standby generators.
- Work alongside electrical teams to ensure seamless integration of gas and electrical components.
- Ensure all installations comply with local, state, and federal safety regulations and codes.
- Inspect and troubleshoot gas plumbing systems to diagnose issues and ensure safe operation.
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on existing standby generator systems.
- Provide customers with clear, concise instructions on generator operation, maintenance, and safety.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and service history.
- Collaborate with the project management team to schedule and deliver installations within expected timelines.
- Respond to emergency service calls for generator and gas plumbing issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Gas Fitter or in a similar role, ideally with standby generator installations.
- Strong knowledge of gas plumbing systems, codes, and regulations.
- Ability to work with residential plumbing and electrical systems.
- Experience in troubleshooting and repairing gas systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, technical diagrams, and installation manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with backup generator installation and maintenance.
- Knowledge of local safety regulations regarding gas and electrical installations.
- Valid gas fitter’s license (preferred but not required)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and tools (up to 50 lbs.)
- Comfortable working in outdoor and indoor environments, including tight spaces.
Compensation:
Competitive salary based on experience, plus benefits package (health, dental, retirement plans, etc.).
Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
