Job Overview:

Under supervision of the USDA Manager, the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) Coordinator/Program Coordinator is responsible for operating and maintaining all aspects of the CSFP program for the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank.               

JOB DUTIES:

  • Coordinate all arrangements for CSFP distributions. CSFP distributions occur during all types of weather conditions and in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings.
  • Secure sites for CSFP distribution, make initial contacts maintain site information and coordination.
  • Complete regular inventory checks and provide monthly/annual reporting to VDACS for program accuracy.
  • Communicate details of CSFP distribution with appropriate staff including: Director of Agency Services, Chief Operating Officer, Logistics Manager, Warehouse Manager & Volunteer Coordinator (when requested).
  • Ensure compliance with Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) and USDA regulations for program participation.
  • Conduct distribution: determine eligibility, enroll and re-certify eligible clients. Provide direct assistance to clients as needed.
  • Maintain calendar, files, database and records of CSFP distributions. Tally information at conclusion of distribution.
  • Manage client caseload for active, wait-list, and those no longer eligible.

  • Complete regular inventory counts with the Inventory Specialist, checks and provide monthly/annual reporting to VDACS for program accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Product Sourcing Manager to order and receiving of CSFP product in order to keep inventory at recommended levels for future distribution.
  • Develop senior client specific educational materials for the program.
  • Conduct annual senior client satisfaction surveys.
  • Assist in general office and field support as assigned by the Agency Services Director.
  • Assist with Agency Services programs and initiatives.
  • Supervise and train volunteers, as needed, during distribution, tasks/assignments and show/share responsibility for the overall Volunteer Experience at the Foodbank.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned or requested by the direct supervisor, department head or Senior Management.
  • Commit to and understand the VPFB mission. This includes active participation in sharing the mission, vision and values of the organization, internally and externally, creating a culture of active philanthropy for and through all staff.
  • In addition to demonstrated commitment to the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank mission to provide food security, the CSFP Coordinator must have the ability to work with a diverse group of people, both staff and volunteers, and the ability to multi-task as circumstances dictate.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum: 6 Months related experience.
  • Preferred: 2 Years, working with seniors or social service organization.

QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred Skills, Abilities & Certifications/Licenses:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid VA Driver’s License
  • Excellent people skills with an ability to work in a diverse environment with people of various educational, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds and ages
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Food Safety Managers Certification or the ability to receive certification within three months of hire

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
