Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and professional Clinic Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems, medical billing, insurance verification, and medical terminology. Bilingual skills are a plus to assist a diverse patient population. The Clinic Receptionist will ensure smooth clinic operations by coordinating appointments, maintaining accurate medical records, and supporting clinical staff with administrative support.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring excellent patient service and phone etiquette.
- Schedule patient appointments using EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth, Dentrix, or Eaglesoft.
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification procedures accurately.
- Collect patient information and perform medical collection activities as needed.
- Manage multi-line phone systems and handle patient inquiries efficiently.
- Maintain and update electronic health records (EHR/Epic/Meditech) ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Review documentation including CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and care plans for billing purposes.
- Assist with data entry tasks such as typing reports, filing documents, and managing medical records.
- Support front desk operations including check-in/check-out procedures, intake processes, and appointment confirmations.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth office workflow and support medical administrative functions.
- Utilize office management software such as Microsoft Office for documentation review and administrative tasks.
Qualifications
- Prior clinic or medical office experience preferred; dental clinic experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and medical billing processes.
- Experience with insurance verification and health information management is desirable.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and office management software.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and data entry.
- Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and bilingual abilities are advantageous.
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
