Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Histology Assistant located in Arlington, VA. The Histology Assistant will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of tissue specimens for microscopic examination. Daily tasks include preparing slides, staining specimens, maintaining lab equipment, and ensuring proper lab hygiene. The role demands a high level of attention to detail and adherence to standard laboratory protocols.
Qualifications
- Experience in histology, including specimen preparation and slide staining
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment and standard lab practices
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols accurately
- Good organizational skills and ability to maintain cleanliness in the lab
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
- Associate degree or equivalent in a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Previous experience in a medical or research lab is a plus
- Certification as a Histology Technician (HT) is preferred
