**What You'll Do**
Team Leadership and Personnel Management
- Manage an assigned team of Drivers and Merchandisers, coordinating daily schedules and ensuring VED and supplier standards are met at every account
- Continuously coach, lead by example, and train your team to achieve market performance standards
- Own the full employment cycle for your team interviewing, hiring, coaching, performance management, and termination in partnership with the Service Manager and Human Resources
- Approve PTO requests, review and approve timesheets each payroll cycle, and monitor the appearance and conduct of every employee you supervise
- Serve as a qualified relief driver for open Sales Representative, Driver, and Merchandiser routes, operating a commercial vehicle and clocking in/out per DOT and VED policy when doing so
- Maintain certification for the route truck classification bay or bulk required in your assigned territory
- Execute deliveries, account work orders, and rotation documentation to the same standard expected of full-time Drivers when covering a route
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Oversee your team's compliance with VED Safety and Maintenance policy and DOT regulations
- Follow all warehouse, accounting, and checkout/check-in procedures, including bank deposits as necessary
- Attend all required sales meetings and uphold VED's dress code and safety standards at all times
- Develop and maintain complete working knowledge of VED and supplier standards, PFP, and incentives applicable to your team's department
- Valid Virginia Commercial Driver's License (Class A), with the ability to operate a commercial vehicle 26,001 lbs and maintain DOT-qualified status
- Prior supervisory or team-lead experience in route delivery, merchandising, or beverage distribution preferred
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to shifting coverage needs across Driver, Merchandiser, and Sales Representative routes
- Ability to lift and carry 15-40 lbs repetitively (occasionally up to 165 lbs) over an 8- to 13-hour day, in varying weather conditions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Basic math proficiency for handling monetary transactions accurately
- Total compensation package $72,000-$84,000/yr *New Relief Managers typically start at or near the base salary range minimum. Placement above the minimum is based on directly relevant supervisory or route delivery experience and internal equity.*
