Contact Ranger (Administrative & Office Specialist I)
Hiring Rate: $12.00 per hour

Provides information regarding state park services and other local attractions. Primarily provides coverage at the parks contact station, and park office if necessary. Required to operate a computer, cash register, fax machine, laminator, handheld radio & multi-line phone system. Provides accurate and detailed information on the park fees, directions, pricing, annual passes, trail information, park interpretive programs, and local area information. Performs clerical duties such as answering telephones, copying, various projects, and other duties as assigned. Ensure gift shop/customer check in area is well stocked and maintained on a daily basis. Maintain accurate and neat filing and storage. Performs daily cleaning of contact station/office area/gift shop/restroom.
Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to perform highest quality customer service, provide information to guests, and be able to operate a computer and cash register. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must have reliable transportation. General knowledge of office and computer operations preferred and ability to meet/work well with the general public. Must be able to reconcile the register and perform daily register transactions. Must provide your own uniform (pants, belt, and boots) and wear a provided shirt and name tag.
Preferred Qualifications: General knowledge of park operations and local attractions preferred.
Gift Shop Attendant (Administrative and Office Specialist I)
Hourly rate: $12.00 per hour
Position number: CL002
Detail oriented and friendly individual needed to perform tasks as assigned in the gift shop and Water’s Edge Meeting Facility. Duties include, but not limited to, assisting customers, selling merchandise and fishing licenses, and cleaning of the gift shop, stock room, caterer’s kitchen, restrooms, and meeting room areas. Responsible for keeping merchandise displays and shelving stocked and properly organized. Responsible for setting up tables and chairs in the meeting room for events and rentals. Position provides accurate and detailed information about rental packages offered by the park. Will assist with the weekly inventory and ordering of food and merchandise. Will be required to lift 50 pounds.

Food Service Ranger (Food Service Technician I)
Hiring Rate: $12.00 per hour
Position number: CL006, CL009, CL021, CL022, CL023, CL024, CL025, CL026, CL027, and CL028
Detail-oriented and friendly individuals needed to perform tasks as assigned in the snack bar. Duties include, but are not limited to preparing/serving food, refreshments and ice cream, washing dishes, and keeping kitchen area & equipment clean & operable. Upkeep of concession exterior to include sweeping the deck, cleaning tables, removing trash and litter. Responsible for revenue collection for food and swim ticket sales. Responsible for reconciling revenue for cash registers. May be required to perform other park related duties during emergencies or on a non-recurrent basis.
Minimum Qualifications: Excellent customer service skills. Must have reliable transportation. Must be able to work well with co-workers and with park guests in a team environment. Must be willing to work shift work, weekends, and holidays from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.

Detail oriented and friendly individuals needed to assist in the operation of Claytor Lake State Park’s Gas Dock. Duties include money handling, operation of a cash register and gas pump, selling gasoline & merchandise, and providing park information regarding services available and other local attractions.
Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to perform highest quality customer service, provide information to guests, and be able to operate a computer, cash register and gas pump. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must have reliable transportation. General knowledge of computer operations preferred and ability to meet/work well with the general public. Must be able to reconcile the register and perform daily register transactions. Must provide your own uniform (pants, belt, and boots) and wear a provided shirt and name tag. Shift hours are 11 a.m.-7:30 p.m.
