Job Duties

Purpose of Position:

To assist the Regional Operational Maintenance Managers (ROMMs) in the maintenance, repair, and minor construction of all associated buildings and grounds within the assigned ROMM's region.

This position provides the Virginia Army National Guard with safe, high quality, cost effective and timely building and grounds maintenance. This position will serve as the primary preventative maintenance Trades Technician for Fort Pickett.

Minimum Qualifications

Must have documented trade experience in at least one of the following: Carpentry, HVAC, Plumbing or Electrical;

Must be able to read drawings/blueprints;

A valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record is required;

Essential physical and mental capabilities in the following: Interpersonal skills, memory, attention to detail, follow directions, comprehension, calculating, reading, writing, speaking, evaluating, mathematics, organizing and innovation;

Ability to use various ladders/lifts;

Ability to use various custodial and mowing equipment;

This position requires the ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Additional Considerations

Virginia Herbicide/Pesticide Certification preferred.

Must obtain a Virginia Herbicide/Pesticide Certification within 12 months of hire.

Must have, and maintain, a valid Virginia Driver's License for the duration of employment.

Must obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).
