SUMMARY
General Description: We are currently seeking qualified rising graduates pursuing a higher education degree program to participate in our 17-week paid internship program.
Under direct supervision, this position is primarily responsible for compiling records concerned with ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping materials, supplies, and equipment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Supports the logistics aspect of the MARS Inventory Control System, including: stocking, database entry, parts and material tracking, and preparing transmittals with appropriate certifications and approvals.
- Receives delivered materials, equipment, and supplies, confirms that all parts match the material stock request descriptions and expected quantity, document arrival condition and verify all necessary paperwork is received.
- Supports receipt inspection of materials, supplies, spares, and repair parts to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Organizes and manages inventory certificate of conformance for all pad components.
- Evaluates clean part inventory levels and sends to parts to be cleaned when required.
- Oversees external repair order process including distributing parts requiring repair/work or cleaning, as well as inspecting and documenting returned units.
- Conducts semiannual inventory audit to ensure all items in stock, accounted for and properly stored.
- Assesses inventory levels and coordinates replenishment with Materials Manager.
- Researches and responds to inquiries regarding inventory levels and part availability.
- Distributes materials, equipment, and supplies to field per material stock request.
- Investigates inventory discrepancies and takes corrective measures to resolve concerns.
- Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands: Work is light requiring lifting of computer equipment and involves typical office behaviors. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Position may travel between sites.
The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: Work is performed in a typical office setting and a warehouse.
Must be able to obtain and maintain eligibility for issuance of a NASA credential.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
