What are the responsibilities and job description for the Excavator Operator position at Virginia Carolina Paving?
EXCAVATOR OPERATOR
Operates power shovel on which digger is pulled toward machine to excavate. A11 machines will be over ½ cubic yard. Can be on track or rubber tires. Machine will include gradall or wrist-o-twist type. Grades to line and grade. May service and make normal operating adjustments to equipment.
May perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. While standing, sitting or walking will lift, carry, push, and pull. Agility, coordination and alertness are necessary for work is in vicinity of heavy equipment and traffic.
All employees are expected to work as scheduled by their Supervisor. Employees must have the ability to adjust to a flexible work schedule as overtime may be required to complete time sensitive projects on the jobsite.
