What are the responsibilities and job description for the Investigator, Health Care Fraud and Elder Abuse Section position at Virginia Attorney General?
The Virginia Office of the Attorney General is seeking a highly-qualified investigator to join its Medicaid Fraud Control Unit. Conducts complex investigations involving health care providers in the Virginia Medicaid Program including allegations of corporate neglect in nursing home facilities. Reviews voluminous records, participates and/or assists in search warrants, interviews witnesses and targets of investigations, drafts overpayment schedules, participates and/or assists in undercover operations. Some overnight travel required. This position will work out of the Richmond, Virginia office.

Minimum Qualifications
Degree in criminal justice, political science, law enforcement, or health care administration preferred. Major course work in the criminal justice or medical administration field, or prior law enforcement experience, is preferred. Experience with investigating physical assaults or elder abuse and neglect, and experience in healthcare related fields or Adult Protective Services, will also be considered. Candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. Candidates should have demonstrated computer proficiency with word processing and database management systems (Microsoft products preferred). Criminal background check will be completed on successful candidate.
