The Continuous Improvement Specialist (Lead) is responsible for leading and supporting organizational efforts to improve business processes using lean methodologies. This role partners with process leaders and cross-functional teams to plan and execute Kaizen events and problem-solving projects that align with the company’s strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a lean expert and internal consultant across all organizational levels.
- Coach and mentor leaders in Continuous Improvement (CI) practices, including Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI).
- Lead Kaizen events, from planning and execution to post-event follow-up and sustainment.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across departments (e.g., Maintenance, Engineering, IT, Finance, Sales).
- Deliver training sessions to build team competence in lean tools and CI methodologies.
- Analyze data to support CI activities and measure performance improvements.
- Stay current on industry best practices through ongoing education and networking.
- Travel may be required.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required.
- 3–5 years of leadership experience, with proven expertise in lean and CI initiatives.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to tailor messages for varied audiences.
- Skilled in coaching, mentoring, and guiding teams through change and problem-solving.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
- Demonstrated ability to manage project scope, timelines, and resources effectively.
- Must exemplify company values and promote a positive, respectful workplace.
