Part-Time Veterinary Assistant / Client Service Representative
New Castle Veterinary Hospital is looking for a friendly, dependable, and team-oriented Part-Time Veterinary Assistant to join our hospital! This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys both hands-on patient care and providing exceptional client service, as the role will support both our treatment area and front desk. The majority of the daily responsibilities will be as a veterinary assistant.

Schedule
- Monday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Every Other Tuesday: 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Compensation
- $19.00–$20.00 per hour, based on experience.
Key Reponsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient care and treatments
- Safely restrain patients and support routine procedures
- Is dependable, organized, efficient, with a strong desire to learn and grow
- Communicates professionally and works well as part of a team
- Prepare exam rooms and maintain a clean, organized hospital
- Stock supplies and assist with daily hospital operations
- Provide support during medical procedures, including setting up equipment, holding animals, and monitoring their well-being.
- Welcome clients and provide outstanding customer service
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and process payments
- Maintain accurate medical records and communicate effectively with clients and the veterinary team
- Jump in wherever needed to help support the hospital and create a positive experience for our patients and clients
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience working with animals in a veterinary setting.
- Strong animal handling skills and comfort working with a variety of species.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow directions closely.
- Basic understanding of veterinary medical terminology and procedures.
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Can multitask while maintaining excellent attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
- Physical stamina to lift and carry animals, stand for extended periods, and perform cleaning tasks.
