VIP Rubber Company is a well-established, family-owned custom rubber and plastic manufacturer with over 50 years of industry experience. We're looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Material Warehouse handler Lab Technician to help manage and maintain material in our Lab department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· The Material Warehouse Worker is responsible for all raw materials received and stored in the Materials Warehouse.
· Responsible for the inventory entries on rubber and plastic materials received.
· Can perform a button test on rubber received in the warehouse, to determine the hardness and specific gravity of the material.
· Notifies the departments when material arrives.
· Will move materials to the department (when requested and available), and update quantities delivered in the inventory program.
· Picks-up all left-over material and returns it to stock, entering the material back in the inventory programs.
· Must be Forklift certified.
· Enter plastic quantities from the initial receipt of product. May be asked to help plastic dept to track of all plastic materials.
· Will be able to coordinate with vendors, various departments, and administration personnel.
· Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
· Able to communicate with vendors written and verbal.
· Able to work with computers/technology. Training will be provided.
· Able to track calibration requirements on equipment used to perform testing.
Extra Duties and Responsibilities
- Conducts test on elastomers, molded products, and processes by performing the following duties.
- Operates mill, rheometer, tensile machine, ingredient inventory, and lab batch mixing.
- Conducts testing on ASTM slabs preparation, tensile, elongation, modulus, Tear B & C, durometer, gravity, vertical Burn, horizontal Burn, 45-degree burn, compression deflection, heat age, immersion, compression set, reading specs, and complete testing.
- Performs physical testing of rubber materials.
- Combines recipes on lab mill.
- Molds or prepares specimens or parts.
- Creates and uploads test reports and data to orders, receiving, and stock program (Vip App).
- Understanding of calibration due dates of equipment used to measure.
- Expected to perform and understand all duties of the Material Warehouse Attendant.
Education and Experience:
· Minimum of a high school education, GED or 1 year warehouse related experience preferred.
· Must be able to read and interpret packing lists in English.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Organizational ability needed to store and track materials.
· Must be computer literate.
· Must be able to perform, but not limited to, the following tasks: reading vendor packing slips for distribution and billing of material to VIP Rubber Company.
· Must be familiar able to perform material testing such as durometer and hardness testing. Training will be provided.
· Required to be familiar with basic hand-held measuring tools.
· Able to coordinate with others.

Physical Demands:
- Moderate to heavy physical effort required.
· Frequently: lifts and/or moves up to 55 pounds. Must be able to lift 55 pounds and/or move from ground level to above shoulder height.
· Regularly required: to use hands and fingers type, handle, or feel, to stand, sit, reach, pull, push, lift and move about the facility.
· Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 55 pounds from the ground to above, shoulder height; ascend or descend varying levels; balances, stoops, kneels, crouches and/ or crawls.
· Regularly required to sit, stand reach, pull push, lift, and move about the facility.
· Employees may be subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
