We are a PTQ Level 4 and NECPA accredited early childhood education organization with three locations in Terre Haute, Indiana: VIP Kinder College East, VIP Kinder College South, and Little Step. Position Overview
As an Early Childhood Assistant Teacher, you will work alongside our lead educators to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment for children ages 6 weeks through 5 years. You will play a hands-on role in supporting daily lessons, routines, and the overall well-being of each child in your care.
Key Responsibilities
- Support lead teachers in implementing developmentally appropriate, hands-on learning activities
- Build warm, consistent relationships with children and their families
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Assist with daily routines including meals, nap time, and transitions
- Observe and document child progress and communicate effectively with lead teachers
- Uphold VIP Kinder College's standards, policies, and accreditation requirements
- Actively participate in staff training and professional development opportunities
Qualifications
- A genuine passion for working with young children (ages 6 weeks through preschool)
- High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or a degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred
- Prior experience in a childcare or early education setting is a plus
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to pass a background check
