Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious CDL/Hazmat Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, to transport freight across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Your primary focus will be on delivering hazardous materials and freight efficiently while adhering strictly to all federal and state regulations. Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers equipped with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, or tankers for the transportation of freight and hazardous materials.
- Navigate using GPS systems to ensure timely and efficient deliveries across designated routes, including OTR routes.
- Load and unload cargo manually or with equipment, ensuring proper handling of logistics cargo in compliance with safety standards.
- Comply with all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, and hazardous materials regulations during transportation and delivery processes.
- Secure loads properly during transit to prevent shifting or damage, especially when handling dangerous goods or hazardous materials.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure truck safety and compliance; report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, shipments, driver logs, and compliance documentation as required by regulatory agencies.
Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for Hazmat and tanker operations.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving with a focus on logistics cargo handling.
- Knowledge of hazardous materials regulations and proper procedures for handling dangerous goods safely.
- Experience operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or automobile transportation equipment preferred.
- Ability to manually handle cargo loading/unloading tasks safely and efficiently using appropriate equipment when necessary.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning for over-the-road (OTR) routes.
- Strong understanding of FMCSA, DOT regulations, and safety protocols related to truck driving and hazardous materials transportation.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; experience with manual transmission trucks is a plus.
- Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks required for load & unload activities in various weather conditions.
