Account Manager Position, Violet PR

Violet PR is seeking an Account Manager to join our award-winning, boutique PR firm based in Montclair, NJ. We’re looking for a smart, fun, energetic go-getter with PR agency experience for this senior role, which will serve a range of clients in fields including economic development, professional services, nonprofit and the arts.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Providing leadership for key accounts; running media relations and social media programs that deliver results
• Developing communications and PR strategies, plans and budgets for clients
• Managing, training and mentoring junior staff
• Managing day-to-day account activities; interfacing daily with clients
• Developing pitch ideas; writing and editing news releases, pitches, fact sheets, media advisories and social media content
• Pitching by email and phone to national, regional and trade journalists, including print, broadcast and online
• Social media management, including implementation of social media campaigns for clients on platforms including LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram
• Writing new business proposals and coming up with new ideas to serve new and existing clients

Job Requirements:

• 5 years of PR agency experience and a bachelor’s degree
• Track record of securing national and niche media coverage, and experience developing relationships with reporters and influencers
• Creative self-starter
• Strong writer with knowledge of AP style
• Ability to ideate and create news articles, thought leadership columns, blog posts, and more
• Social media experience growing followings for clients using Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills
• Exceptional work ethic and motivated to excel in a fast-paced, creative environment
• Detail oriented; able to manage multiple projects in an organized manner
• Ability to work well within a boutique team in a fun, collaborative and creative setting
• Ability to work three days a week in our Montclair, NJ office
