Violence Prevention Network USA works to prevent violent extremism by helping people move away from violence and toward safer paths forward. We support individuals at risk, as well as families, practitioners, and communities who are worried about someone and do not know where to turn. Through direct support, training, and practical guidance, we help people recognize early signs of violent extremism and respond in ways that reduce the risk of escalation. Violence Prevention Network USA is building a civil society infrastructure for early intervention and disengagement in the United States.
Our work focuses on the space between broad prevention efforts and law enforcement response — the point where concern is real, but the next step is often unclear. This may look like growing isolation, grievance, hostility, fixation, or attraction to violent extremist ideas. It is often the moment when family members, educators, counselors, social workers, faith leaders, or other professionals know something is wrong, but do not yet know how to respond. We work directly with individuals, but we also support the people and systems around them. That includes coaching and consultation for families and professionals, specialized training for frontline practitioners, and stronger referral and collaboration pathways across civil society, education, behavioral health, reentry, justice, and public institutions. VPN USA operates a national helpline that offers guidance and support to people across the country who are worried about someone in their personal or professional life. At the same time, we are building relationships with practitioners, institutions, and partners nationwide, helping strengthen a broader network of professionals who are looking for better ways to respond early and prevent escalation.

This project will involve working with VPN USA staff to merge an existing VPN USA program website (the RESTORE Project) into the VPN USA national organization's website, taking existing copy and content from staff and incorporating it into a refreshed design for the national website. Tasks will include:

Job Description
Violence Prevention Network USA is seeking to revamp its web identity to more clearly represent our extremism prevention work from within the United States. This project will involve working with VPN USA staff to merge an existing VPN USA program website (the RESTORE Project) into the VPN USA national organization's website, taking existing copy and content from staff and incorporating it into a refreshed design for the national website. - meeting with program staff to walk through a text-based layout of a revitalized site,
- engaging with and creating new design elements for the site,
- translating this design into Wordpress, and
- orienting staff to the process of making changes and inputting new content in the future.

- Experience problem solving as an independent worker on a larger remote team
