Flooring Sales & Store Operations Representative
Pay: $15.00 per hour 2% commission
Schedule: Monday–Saturday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Work Location: In person – Belleville, IL
Job Overview
Vinyl Wholesale Flooring is looking for a reliable, motivated, and hands-on team member to help manage the day-to-day operations of our flooring store. This is a sales-focused role, but also requires assisting with store operations, customer support, administrative tasks, showroom maintenance, and overall organization of the business.
You will play a major role in keeping the store running smoothly by helping customers, maintaining inventory and displays, handling follow-ups, assisting with scheduling, and ensuring the showroom remains clean and presentable at all times.
This position is ideal for someone who is self-motivated, organized, comfortable talking with customers, and able to take ownership and responsibility in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
* Assist walk-in customers with flooring selections, pricing, and product recommendations
* Generate sales through customer outreach, follow-up, and relationship building
* Answer phone calls, emails, and customer inquiries professionally
* Create invoices, estimates, and assist with order processing
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the showroom, office, and product displays
* Restock samples, organize inventory, and monitor product availability
* Open and close the store
* Coordinate with installers, suppliers, and customers regarding orders and scheduling
* Assist with social media posts, promotions, and marketing efforts when needed
* Handle administrative tasks such as filing paperwork, updating customer records, and managing basic data entry
* Support overall store maintenance and daily operations to ensure the business runs efficiently
* Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional store environment at all times
Qualifications
* Strong communication and customer service skills
* Sales experience preferred, especially in flooring, construction, home improvement, or retail
* Ability to multitask and work independently with minimal supervision
* Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented
* Comfortable using computers, POS systems, and basic office software
* Ability to lift and move flooring samples or boxes when needed
* Positive attitude and willingness to take initiative
Compensation
* $15.00 per hour
* 2% commission on closed sales
