What are the responsibilities and job description for the Culinary Supervisor position at Vintage Park Assisted Living?
· Staffing: Responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, supervising and evaluating all kitchen staff.
§ Ensure sufficient staffing to prepare and serve meals 365 days per year.
· Operations: Plan menus in cooperation with registered dietician
· Order food and supplies as needed
· Prepare food and serve meals
· Maintain a clean dining room, kitchen and storage areas
· Maintain food storage and rotation as per food safety standards
· Maintain inventory of kitchen equipment, food and supplies, along with any other supplies/items related to food service operations
· Maintain sufficient supplies to provide for at least 3 days of food service—in the event of an emergency
· Ensure equipment is maintained in a safe and efficient manner in conjunction with Vintage Park Maintenance Coordinator
· Work with Marketing Staff and Life Enrichment/Activities Director(s) to provide meals and/or snacks for special events and/or activities.
· Regulatory:
· Comply with any/all regulations concerning food safety and sanitation as required to secure and maintain required food service certification
· Comply with any and all Department of Health and/or Department of Inspections and Appeals standards related to food preparation/storage
· Comply with any and all regulations related to use and storage of hazardous materials
· Comply with Vintage Park Policies and Procedures, Employee Handbook, HIPAA standards, MSDS regulations, etc., as required
· Administrative:
· Attend stand up meetings, mandatory staff in-service meetings, food service meetings, staff training, safety committee meetings, etc., as directed.
§ Provide input into Vintage Park budget as requested
§ Work within budget guidelines as directed
§ Provide cost analysis as requested
· Other Skills and Abilities:
· Maintain a clean and professional appearance
· Obtain and maintain a chauffeur's license within 30 days of hire as directed.
· Obtain Serv Safe Certification within 30 days of hire
· Respond to calls for assistance from residents, fire alarms, door alarms, or other emergencies as needed.
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs -- up to 40 inches in height
· Able to stand for extended periods of time.
· Possess effective communication skills (oral, written and listening)
· Possess effective organization and multi-tasking skills
· Able to stay calm during stressful, chaotic and/or emergency situations
· Perform various other duties, as requested by the Manager (and/or designee)
