Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to track health status
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and protocols in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Support residents with dementia or Alzheimer's by implementing personalized care plans and engaging them in meaningful activities
- Provide companionship and social support to promote mental health and emotional well-being
- Document resident interactions, health updates, and incident reports using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems to ensure accurate communication among care teams
Skills
- Proven experience in long-term care, home & community care, or group home settings with a focus on senior or disability care
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and behavior management techniques
- Ability to perform first aid and respond effectively in emergency situations
- Strong understanding of medication administration procedures and vital signs monitoring
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring personalized support
- Excellent communication skills to engage residents empathetically and collaborate with healthcare professionals
